I ask every client for their feedback at the end of therapy as I feel this is essential for improving the service.

I also ask clients for their permission to publish their feedback as I understand that choosing a psychology service can be a difficult decision.

I hope that reading about the experiences of clients can help to give people a sense of what using this service might be like.

The following are real testimonials from clients, although the names and some other details have been changed to protect their privacy.

Tracy, 42 year old female, using EMDR for trauma

Q: Was there anything that you found particularly helpful or unhelpful about using this service?

A: “I was a bit sceptical about therapy but pleasantly surprised and really impressed how you were able to personalise the sessions to myself making it very real and easy to relate to. Taken away some really useful tools to tackle the future which is exactly what I needed and will pass on your details to others needing help in the workplace. Amazing what a difference these sessions made, thank you!”

James, 35 year old male, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for anxiety and low mood

Q: Was there anything that you found particularly helpful or unhelpful about using this service?

A: “I found the use of Zoom very helpful, I felt really comfortable at home and this put me at complete ease from the first session. Andrew was also really flexible, working around my diary and family life which I really appreciated.

For the session itself, I found the clear structure really helpful, the sessions were planned out but Andrew wasn’t afraid to steer off the agenda if I asked questions or our discussions leaned away from the task at hand. The use of feedback and prep documents really helpful me personally.”

Sarah, 24 year old female, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for anxiety, low mood and self-esteem.

Q: Was there anything that you found particularly helpful or unhelpful about using this service?

A: “I found it particularly helpful that you showed that you really listened and understood what I said, for example whenever you would summarize your understanding in a recap. I appreciate how you acknowledged that I had done some previous work and had already tried a few things before I started the sessions. I found the analogies that you used to explain the concepts helpful.

I found that you were always very prepared for the sessions and used the time very efficiently whilst being conscious of the limit on the allocated number of sessions. It was helpful that you were very encouraging with your feedback on my progress made over the course of the sessions.

Finally, I found that acceptance and commitment therapy approach you used really worked for me as I am feeling like myself again.”

Lisa, 34 year old female, using EMDR for trauma and grief.

Q: Any other comments or feedback?

A: “I decided to look into therapy after losing a baby at 20 weeks pregnant and chose to work with Andrew based on his experience working with trauma patients and EMDR. This type of therapy is not easy and it can be distressing to process traumatic memories. Andrew handled this with the utmost sensitivity and professionalism at all times. I am grateful to Andrew for helping me through this process and I believe the therapy has enabled me to move forward positively with my life.”

Tim, 55 year old male, using EMDR for trauma and grief.

Q: Any other comments or feedback?

A: “I really think I have dealt with everything and feel as free from trauma as I have ever been. Tonight is the anniversary of my daughters passing which to me is no longer a traumatic event but is now a memory, albeit a sad one. This is the first one since she passed that I was able to function fully. Thanks again Andrew.

On a separate note, doing this process with you has ignited a spark and as a result I have enrolled on an MSc in mental health and well-being and I’d like to thank you for helping me feel motivated again. My intention is to then go on to do a PhD in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.”

Carl, 24 year old male, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for workplace and family issues.

Q: Was there anything that you found particularly helpful or unhelpful about using this service?

A: “The sessions allowed open, two way conversations  in a simplistic and easy to understand manner. When needed, clarity was enhanced through the use of analogies and real life examples which I could really relate to.

Thanks Andrew for your support over the last 6 months, you’ve helped me approach and think about issues/thoughts/circumstances in a different manner than I did previously.”

Julie, 66 year old female, using EMDR for trauma.

Q: Was there anything that you found particularly helpful or unhelpful about using this service?

A: “I had some difficult flashbacks of my childhood and I wanted to explore these further. I found the work very helpful and I feel I am able to put these methods into practice which has helped me become more happy in myself. I also have had some clear guidance in how I can improve my life by having some simple yet affective goals to try to achieve.

I would highly recommend Dr Andrew Morgan and will do so should such opportunity come along. “

Simon, 42 year old male, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for anxiety and low mood.

Q: Was there anything that you found particularly helpful or unhelpful about using this service?

A: “There were two key benefits from using this service. Firstly, there was Andrew Morgan himself, who is a very gifted, wise and encouraging therapist.

Secondly, I found the fact that Andrew offered ACT rather than CBT was a very important part of my treatment. I didn’t know anything about ACT at first, and was cautious about working with Andrew because everybody else seemed geared to CBT.

However, I found that the ACT model was spookily relevant to my personal circumstances, and found the approach to be a far more realistic and practical tool for both my challenges of this year, but also going forward.”

Q: Any other comments or feedback?

A: “Thank you for providing such thoughtful, detailed and powerful support to me during a difficult time. Be encouraged… your work is making a difference to people, and I feel lucky/blessed to have had the chance to work with you. I’ll certainly recommend you to others. Thanks in particular for introducing me to ACT. Wishing you all the best for the future.”
